Case Study Five - East Sussex

New Build Family Home

The family’s requirement was to design a property that was open plan on the ground floor with a number of covered porches to provide sheltered outdoor seating areas.

The two storey house was prefabricated using SIP panels, delivered to site and craned into position on a prepared ground floor slab.

The client’s bedroom is on the first floor accessed via an accessible lift which opens onto a landing and gallery that overlooks the two storey high sitting room.

The property is heavily insulated, heated by an air-source heat pump with photovoltaic panels on the south west facing roof slope.
During the whole process of designing and building our house, we found ARA to be very efficient in all aspects. Andrew and Sian were quick to take on board our ideas and incorporate the various elements we wanted included in the finished plans. During the build process itself everyone at ARA made themselves available to guide us through what was unavoidably a stressful time. Last minute changes were dealt with speedily, the design amended and passed to the builders who responded quickly so no time was lost. I’d heartily recommend ARA to help with any project
